- Detroit Delivers is a Personal Planning and Etiquette Services Company.
Previous to opening Detroit Delivers, Karen Thornton worked for the United States Federal Government, she is retired. Karen is a former Mary Kay Sales Consultant, for the West Bloomfield area. She was awarded Miss America for the West Bloomfield Unit and obtained a multitude of awards for Queen of Sales, Queen of Recruiting Awards, as well as leading her own unit to top sales every quarter.
Karen was awarded and honored from the city of Detroit, Michigan Motor City Match program twice with obtaining levels of technical assistance funding for her business Detroit Delivers which she was the first cohort and awardee for her ideas about her business Detroit Delivers.
Currently, Detroit Delivers is located in the heart of the city of Detroit in the Midtown area and Southfield, Michigan.
Karen is a certified Children’s, Business & Corporate Etiquette Trainer. Also, she is a proud member of the Southfield Chamber of Commerce as well as being an Ambassador for the Southfield Chamber of Commerce, and the City of Southfield Government.
Karen’s business Detroit Delivers was selected as the Retail Partners Lead for the Detroit Startup Week 2017 & 2018 powered by Chase Bank. Her duties included: Facilitating and coordinating all businesses with discounts, and partnerships across area coffee shops (breakfast/coffee), Restaurants (dinner), and Clubs (Nightlife). Also, Karen taught a Business Etiquette class at the Detroit Startup Week that has spiraled into various Etiquette series and workshops.
Karen is featured in the Motor City Match video and Detroit Demo Days 2017, Quicken Loans video, which is about all entrepreneurs from various industries competing by way of pitch or demonstration.
Karen has a dynamic book club titled: “This is How We Roll” Karen is an avid reader, loves to play board games, loves to travel, and loves to volunteer her time to various organizations and charities.
Karen has had the great opportunity to assist with being the Chair running a campaign for a city of Southfield, 46th District Court Judge, Judge Debra Nance.
Also, Karen was honored and awarded the Spirit of Detroit Award from the city of Detroit, Michigan for her outstanding services to the city of Detroit.
Currently, Karen is a Moderator for the US Military. And in addition, Karen is on Congresswoman Brenda Lawrence Advisory Board for Women and serves on other commitees and boards as well.
Karen has so many dynamic projects ongoing daily that uses her expertise daily in assisting all clients all over the world. Her motto is: Do what you do best, and We’ll handle the rest. She lives by that and she takes pride in all she does to make sure everyone is elite in all areas of their lives.
